Experiences

Five ways to make more of your time in the Serengeti, from meals in the bush to sundowners as the sun goes down. Some are part of every stay; others are arranged on request.

Bush dining

At every camp and location

Breakfast as the plains wake up, or dinner beneath a sky full of stars. A meal taken out in the bush is one of the simple pleasures of a stay in the Serengeti, and our team can arrange one at Central Serengeti, Kogatende or Ndutu.

Arranged on request and charged separately. Ask us about timing and cost on your dates.

Sundowners

At Central Serengeti and Kogatende only

As the light turns gold, pause at a quiet viewpoint with a drink in hand and watch the sun go down over the Serengeti. It is one of the Serengeti’s oldest rituals, and a fine way to end the day.

Not offered at Ndutu, where the camp’s setting doesn’t suit it.

Unfenced, in the wild

At every camp and location

Our camps are unfenced, so the wilderness carries on right up to your tent. Wildlife moves freely through the area, and animals sometimes pass close to camp. At every camp, a member of our team walks you to and from your tent after dark: it is standard practice for all guests.

Encounters are never staged or guaranteed. Please follow the camp team’s safety guidance at all times.

The sounds of the bush

At every camp and location

Nights under canvas bring the Serengeti close: the whoop of a hyena, a lion calling in the distance, frogs and insects in the dark, then birdsong at first light. Nothing is staged: this is simply what the night sounds like here, and for many guests it is what they remember long after the stay.

Part of every stay, at both camps.
